Digipak Research - Rihanna 'Loud'

The front cover features a close up of Rihanna's face with the bold use of red hair and lips catches audience's attention especially the male gaze. Her plump outstanding lips also connote a hint seductiveness or love. Her skin is edited with a golden glow representing her health and wealth indicating that she is happy but also depicting the R&B style in her music through the idea of gold and money. This also apply to Goodwin's theory of using close-ups of the artist for the main attraction as that's what the audience is interested in - creating a stronger artist to consumer bond.

They have incorporated a picture of roses as the CD design which suggests the romance and how she is happy from her songs. This allows the audience to know that her songs are mostly about love and boys. The use of the colour cream with a pink undertone makes it girly and sweet.

In this photograph, she looks angelic and perfect to fit with the theme of romance and love. The baby pink tint overlay her body making her true colour to be hidden, showing a relationship to her vulnerability. The consistent use of pink and red makes the digipak appear as a whole package.
