Audience Feedback

Audience Questionnaire

We composed a questionnaire for our audience to find out what kinds of things we should include in our video and what would appeal to them.

The results of the questionnaire showed;

We also sampled these questions with a focus group.

From our feedback, it is clear that our audience wanted a video that has something distinctive to make our video unique from the others that is also entertaining. They also wanted us to include a narrative in our video to break down the performing shots.
When we played the song and presented to them our pitch, they also liked our ideas and showed an interest. Another advice that we got from is to include lots of backgrounds/locations and to use lots of bright colours. They also thought editing to the beat is very important as it makes the whole video feel upbeat and more relevant to the song.

Overall our feedback was positive and they gave us lots of advice on how to get the right audience hooked.

Target Audience/ Audience Profile

As a group, we have set our target audience to be between the ages of 13-18 (mostly girls) because our song 'Brokenhearted' by Karmin is a pop song that lean more towards the sweet and innocent side, which makes it most suitable for a younger teenage audience. It will be most enjoyable for girls who can relate to the song and how they may have a crush but the wait for them to call can slowly make them frustrated. Their attraction may be due to how they can totally feel the frustration and emotions behind the song or even the curiosity of how it feels like having a boyfriend of a crush. Although some may be attracted simply because of the artist's face and her appearance, for example, the way she is dressed, her make up or hairstyles used. There may also be a secondary audience such as boys who are attracted to the artist's looks or the way she acts.

We will be using colourful backgrounds to show the cheerfulness of the song, which also makes it very pop-like. We will also be very careful with the artist's appearance throughout the whole video, so we can also attract the audience who likes fashion and hair.

Here is a video to show what our typical audience profile will be like.
